The state of CA has classified Medical Massage as an essential service. Additionally, our office building is categorized as a clinical location and we are allowed to remain open during any period of shut-down mandates.
Your safety is our priority. Please self-check your own temperature. If you have any symptoms of illness at all, please reschedule your appointment and your therapist will do the same. We must limit the use of our waiting room. If you have a companion, they need to wait outside the building. We are spacing appointments out in longer intervals to reduce foot traffic and allow for deep cleaning. At times, you may cross paths with another client who is arriving or leaving, but we are taking steps to reduce this. Your therapist will wear a NIOSH approved, N95 mask while in the treatment room. This reduces risk for both you and the therapist.
The state requires everyone to wear masks at business locations. People may experience breathing restriction while face-down on the massage table, so we are using a system that allows you to go mask-free while you are face-down: We use a cloth barrier that hangs low enough to allow you to breath freely, yet it functions like a mask. This barrier is changed for each client. Best practice is to wear a mask when you enter and exit the building. You can take it off while you are face-down on the table, and wear the mask when you are face-up.
We use 70% isopropyl alcohol to sanitize all common area hard surfaces and equipment after every session. Our massage room has a ventilation fan attached to the window and we can circulate fresh air into the room. We are also using a certified HEPA air purifier that helps reduce 99.9% of allergens, bacteria, and certain airborne viruses. As usual, all treatment linens, towels, and face cradle covers are laundered for each client. Underneath the linens, the face cradle and massage table have polyurethane covers that we sanitize with alcohol after each session.
Your therapist thoroughly washes hands and uses an alcohol solution before entering the treatment room. If you are receiving ashiatsu massage, this protocol also applies to feet. We will avoid face-massage, unless otherwise requested. Our credit card processing device will be sanitized with alcohol solution before and after each usage. We also accept contact-less payment through Google, Apple Pay, and Venmo. Finally, we provide hand sanitizer for your convenience and anti-bacterial soap in our bathroom.
